Intermediate neutrons
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013204
Neutrons possessing kinetic energies between those of slow neutrons and fast neutrons. These particles are produced in nuclear reactors and particle accelerators through moderation processes. The energy range for intermediate neutrons is generally considered to be from approximately 1 electronvolt (eV) up to about 500 kiloelectronvolts (keV), placing them above the thermal energy region but below the high-energy fission spectrum.
