Delayed-neutron activation analysis

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002967

A nuclear analytical technique that measures the concentration of certain elements by detecting the delayed neutrons emitted after neutron irradiation. Samples are irradiated with neutrons, inducing fission in specific isotopes, which then produce delayed neutron precursors. This method is particularly sensitive for elements like uranium and thorium, which yield fission products that emit delayed neutrons.
