Proof of concept
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013438
The demonstration that a particular idea, method, or product is feasible and has the potential to achieve its intended purpose. In medicinal chemistry, this involves showing that a therapeutic strategy or a drug candidate can elicit a desired biological effect in a relevant model system. This stage often precedes extensive development and clinical trials, providing preliminary evidence of efficacy.
