Rules of practical causal inference

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013516

A set of guidelines used to establish a cause-and-effect relationship between an exposure and an observed outcome, particularly in ecotoxicology. These rules consider factors such as the strength of association, consistency across studies, specificity of the effect, and biological plausibility. They provide a framework for evaluating evidence when direct experimental proof is not feasible.
