Rod-coil copolymer
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010398
A block copolymer composed of at least one block with a rigid, rod-like conformation and at least one block with a flexible, coil-like conformation. These distinct segments tend to microphase separate, leading to a variety of ordered nanostructures. The self-assembly of rod-coil copolymers is influenced by the relative lengths and interactions of the blocks.
