Santa Ana dexterity test

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010514

A standardized test of manual dexterity in which the subject stands before a board with 48 square holes, each holding a fitted peg that is round above and square at its base. The subject lifts each peg, turns it through 180 degrees and replaces it as quickly as possible, first with one hand and then with the other. It measures eye-hand coordination and is used in neurotoxicology to detect subtle motor impairment after exposure.
