Bandwidth

The maximum rate of data transfer across a given path, measured in bits per second (bps). It represents the capacity of a communication channel to transmit information, not the actual speed at which data travels. For example, a typical home internet connection might offer 100 megabits per second (Mbps) of bandwidth.
