A measure of spatial printing or video dot density, specifically the number of individual dots that can be placed in a linear inch. Higher DPI values indicate greater detail and sharpness in printed images or on display screens. For printing, common resolutions range from 300 DPI for standard documents to 1200 DPI or more for high-quality images.
