Term · Computing and IT · MLC-T-CMP-000421

A fiber optic network technology for local area networks (LANs) that uses a dual-ring topology to achieve high reliability and data rates. It transmits data at 100 megabits per second over fiber optic cables, providing a backbone for connecting slower networks. FDDI networks can span distances up to 200 kilometers and support thousands of users.
