Nybble

A unit of digital information consisting of four consecutive bits, equivalent to half of a standard eight-bit byte. This unit can represent 16 distinct values, from 0000 to 1111 in binary. Because it can hold 16 values, a single nybble corresponds directly to one hexadecimal digit (0 through F).
