Superscalar
Term · Computing and IT · MLC-T-CMP-001179
A processor design that executes more than one instruction per clock cycle by dispatching multiple instructions simultaneously to different execution units. This parallel processing capability improves CPU performance by exploiting instruction-level parallelism. Modern high-performance CPUs, such as those found in desktop computers and servers, are typically superscalar.
