Processor core

An individual processing unit within a central processing unit (CPU) that can independently execute instructions. Modern processors often contain multiple cores, allowing them to handle several tasks or threads simultaneously, thereby improving overall performance and multitasking capabilities. A dual-core processor has two such units, while a quad-core has four.
