A central processing unit (CPU) that contains two independent processing units, or cores, on a single integrated circuit die. Each core can execute instructions independently, enabling the processor to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and improve multitasking performance. This architecture is prevalent in modern personal computers, laptops, and mobile devices.
