Term · Computing and IT · MLC-T-CMP-001524
A technique in computer architecture that allows multiple instructions to be processed concurrently in different stages, improving the overall throughput of the processor. Each instruction passes through a series of sequential stages, such as fetch, decode, execute, and write-back, with different instructions occupying different stages simultaneously. This method increases the number of instructions completed per unit of time, measured in instructions per cycle (IPC).
