No Observed Effect Level

A level of exposure which does not cause observable harm.
1. An exposure level at which there are no statistically or biologically significant increases in the frequency or severity of any effect between the exposed population and its appropriate control.
2. Dose level at which no effects are noted.
3. The highest level of a stressor evaluated in a test that does not cause statistically significant differences from the controls.
