Arc blast

A violent expulsion of molten material, shrapnel, and superheated gases that occurs during an electrical arc fault. This event generates extreme pressure waves and can cause severe physical injury or death to nearby personnel. The force of an arc blast can exceed hundreds of pounds per square foot.
