Barrow crossing

A pathway across railway tracks at a station, provided for pedestrians, passengers with luggage, and staff moving small trolleys or barrows. These crossings are located at track level, requiring people to step over the rails, and are distinct from footbridges or subways. Access is controlled by gates or other barriers, which are locked when it is unsafe to cross, and are supervised by station staff to prevent accidents with approaching trains.
