Battery-backed

Describing a system or component equipped with a battery to supply power during a primary power source failure. This design maintains data in volatile memory, such as Static Random-Access Memory (SRAM), or keeps real-time clocks running without interruption. The backup power source is often a small lithium coin cell integrated directly onto the circuit board, capable of sustaining memory for several years.
