Bulkhead

A vertical partition or wall within a structure, such as a ship, aircraft, or vehicle, designed to divide it into compartments, provide structural rigidity, or prevent the spread of fire or water. Bulkheads contribute significantly to the structural integrity and safety of the overall design. In marine vessels, they are often watertight.
