A warp in which more than two threads pass through each dent of the reed, packing the threads closely together. Weavers combine crammed dents with empty ones in the crammed and spaced technique, which makes bands of denser and looser cloth across the width. In such a setup an 8-dent reed can give 18 ends per inch.
