Drawnwork

A form of decorative embroidery or openwork on fabric, created by pulling out, or drawing, selected warp or weft threads and then stitching the remaining threads together into patterns. This technique produces a lace-like effect directly within the weave of the base cloth, such as linen or cotton. Traditional forms of drawnwork are classified by the specific methods used to withdraw threads and bundle the remaining ones, such as hemstitching or fagoting.
