Creep
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-001432
A method of feeding young livestock, especially calves, lambs, and piglets, by providing supplemental feed in an area that is inaccessible to their mothers. This is achieved using a creep feeder or a fenced-off creep area with openings large enough for the young animals but too small for the adults. The practice is distinct from general feeding because it specifically targets the higher nutritional needs of growing animals before they are weaned.
