Creep
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002668
The time-dependent deformation of a material under a constant applied stress, occurring at temperatures above absolute zero. In polymers, creep is a viscoelastic phenomenon where molecular chains rearrange over time, leading to a gradual increase in strain. The rate of creep is influenced by temperature, stress level, and material composition.
