Dynamic mechanical analysis
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003495
A thermal analysis technique that measures the viscoelastic properties of materials as a function of temperature, time, or frequency. A sinusoidal stress is applied to a sample, and the resulting strain is measured, allowing determination of storage modulus, loss modulus, and damping factor. This technique is widely used for characterizing polymers and composites.
