Dynamic viscometer

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003509

An apparatus that drives a strip-shaped sample with a sinusoidal displacement at a frequency away from resonance and reads the response at the far end, so that the phase lag between stress and strain is obtained directly. From the amplitude and phase angle it yields the storage and loss moduli. It differs from a rotational viscometer, which measures steady shear viscosity of a fluid.
