Dynamic time warping

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003508

An algorithm used to find an optimal alignment between two time series that may vary in speed or timing. This method calculates a warping path that minimizes the distance between corresponding points in the two series, even if they are out of phase. It is frequently applied in chemometrics for aligning chromatographic or spectroscopic data to compensate for retention time or spectral shifts.
