Procrustes analysis
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009497
A statistical method used to compare the shapes of two or more configurations of points by optimally superimposing them. It involves translating, rotating, and scaling one configuration to minimize the sum of squared differences between corresponding points in the other configuration. This technique is applied in chemometrics to align data matrices or compare multivariate patterns.
