Forced sinusoidal oscillation

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004592

A type of mechanical deformation applied to a material where a sinusoidal stress or strain is imposed, causing the material to oscillate at a specific frequency. In polymer rheology, this technique is used to probe the viscoelastic properties of polymers. The response of the material, including its storage and loss moduli, is measured as a function of frequency and temperature.
