Creaming
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002667
The process by which the dispersed phase of an emulsion or suspension separates to form a concentrated layer at the top or bottom of the container, driven by density differences. This phenomenon is a reversible process where the dispersed particles remain distinct and do not coalesce. It is a common instability in colloidal systems.
