Cross-bonding
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-001452
A technique used in high-voltage cable systems to mitigate circulating currents and reduce sheath losses in single-core cables. It involves transposing and interconnecting the metallic sheaths of adjacent cables at specific points along their length. This method balances the induced voltages in the sheaths, limiting current flow and increasing power transmission efficiency.
