Cross-course
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-001454
A mineral vein or fault that intersects an older, primary lode or vein at an angle. These features post-date the formation of the main ore-bearing structure they cut across. A cross-course can displace the original lode, creating challenges in mining by requiring miners to search for the continuation of the ore body on the other side of the fault.
