A mineral deposit consisting of a vein or system of veins containing valuable ore minerals, often within a fissure or fracture in the host rock. These deposits form when mineral-rich fluids circulate through cracks and precipitate minerals. Lodes are a primary target for hard rock mining operations seeking metals like gold, silver, or copper.
