Detackifier

Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-001673

A chemical additive that reduces the natural stickiness, or tack, of a material's surface, particularly in polymers and adhesives. It is applied to prevent unwanted adhesion between surfaces during processing, handling, or storage. Detackifiers function by migrating to the surface to form a non-sticky boundary layer or by chemically reacting with tacky components.
