Dihedral

The upward angle of an aircraft's wings relative to the horizontal plane. This design feature enhances lateral stability, causing the aircraft to return to a level attitude after being disturbed by turbulence or control inputs. A typical dihedral angle for many commercial aircraft is between 2 and 7 degrees.
