Anhedral
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-000208
The downward tilt of a wing or tailplane from root to tip relative to the horizontal, the opposite of dihedral. It lowers roll stability, which suits high-wing aircraft that would otherwise be too stable in roll, and it is also used on some swept-wing fighters and on stabilators such as those of the F-4 Phantom. The C-5 Galaxy, Antonov An-124 and BAe 146 are examples.
