Double-acting
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-001807
Describing a mechanical device, such as a cylinder or pump, where fluid pressure or force acts on both sides of a piston or plunger to produce motion in two directions. This allows for controlled extension and retraction, unlike single-acting devices that rely on springs or gravity for return. Double-acting cylinders are widely used in hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
