A verification process, known as Design Rule Check, that determines if the physical layout of an integrated circuit or printed circuit board conforms to a set of manufacturing constraints. The process uses software to check for geometric violations like minimum spacing, wire widths, and via overlaps. A layout that passes DRC has a much higher probability of being manufacturable with an acceptable yield.
