Two-second rule

A guideline for safe driving that advises drivers to maintain a minimum following distance of two seconds behind the vehicle in front of them. This interval provides sufficient time and distance to react and stop safely if the leading vehicle suddenly slows or stops. The rule should be increased to three or more seconds in adverse weather conditions or at higher speeds.
