Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-001913

A recreational motor vehicle with large, wide tires designed for driving on sand dunes, beaches, or desert terrain. Most are built with a lightweight, open-chassis frame and a rear-mounted engine, a configuration popularized by the original Volkswagen Beetle-based Meyers Manx models. These vehicles feature long-travel suspension to absorb bumps and maintain traction on loose surfaces, prioritizing off-road capability over on-road comfort.
