A fabrication plant, or "fab," is a facility where semiconductor devices are manufactured. These plants require extremely clean environments, often classified as Class 1 or Class 10 cleanrooms, to prevent contamination during the intricate manufacturing processes. The construction and outfitting of a modern semiconductor fab can cost billions of dollars.
