Faucet aerator

A small, mesh screen device screwed onto the end of a faucet spout that mixes air into the water stream. This process creates a non-splashing, consistent flow, making the water feel softer and increasing its perceived pressure. Aerators also reduce water consumption, with flow rates often specified in gallons per minute (GPM), such as 1.5 GPM or 2.2 GPM.
