A Fuel Control Unit, a component in a gas turbine engine that meters the correct amount of fuel delivered to the combustion chamber. It regulates fuel flow based on inputs such as throttle position, engine speed, compressor discharge pressure, and ambient air temperature to maintain the desired engine power and prevent over-speeding or overheating. Modern FCUs are often part of a Full Authority Digital Engine Control (FADEC) system, which provides precise electronic management of engine performance.
