Groundwater level

The upper surface of the zone of saturation, where all pore spaces in the soil or rock are filled with water. This level, also known as the water table, fluctuates with rainfall, seasonal changes, and groundwater extraction. It is measured from the ground surface and is a key factor in foundation design and dewatering operations.
