Wellpoint

Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-006563

A small-diameter, perforated pipe with a screen, typically installed in the ground to lower the groundwater table for construction purposes. Multiple wellpoints are connected to a common header pipe and a vacuum pump, which draws water out of the soil. This dewatering method stabilizes excavations and prevents water intrusion into construction sites.
