Headchair

A casting at the point end of a block or stub switch on which the ends of the movable rails rest, and to which the fixed rails of the track are attached. When the switch is thrown, the movable rails shift across it to line up with one track or the other. It belongs to the older stub-type switch, which has no tapered point blades.
