Honeycomb coil
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-002867
An inductor wound in a crisscross or lattice pattern to reduce its self-capacitance and improve its quality factor (Q factor) at high frequencies. The diagonal winding separates adjacent turns, lowering the parasitic capacitance that would otherwise exist between parallel wires. This construction was historically used in early radio receivers for tuning circuits where low loss was required.
