Honeycomb

A lightweight structural core material, typically made from aluminum, aramid paper, or fiberglass, formed into hexagonal cells resembling a beehive. This core is bonded between two thin face sheets to create a sandwich panel with high strength-to-weight ratio and rigidity. Honeycomb structures are widely used in aircraft components such as wings, fuselage panels, and interior fittings.
