Inductor
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-003011
A passive electrical component with two terminals that stores energy within a magnetic field generated by the electric current flowing through it. It is constructed from a conductor, such as an insulated wire, formed into a coil, sometimes around a magnetic core made of iron or ferrite. The property of an inductor to oppose changes in current is called inductance, which is measured in henries (H).
