Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-002883
The extension of a door or window frame's vertical stile beyond the horizontal head or sill joints. These extensions protect the corners of the frame from damage during transport and handling. During installation, the horns are used to brace the frame in the rough opening and are trimmed off flush with the sill or surrounding structure once the unit is permanently fixed in place.
