The superstructure of a vessel located above the main or weather deck, which contains the bridge, accommodations, and other enclosed working spaces. It includes all enclosed areas apart from the cargo holds or machinery spaces within the hull. The term is sometimes used interchangeably with superstructure, though deckhouse can specifically refer to a smaller structure that does not extend to the full width of the ship.
